Here you will find songs that I write and sing and songs that I don't write and still sing. There are also collaborations with friends and some pictures.

—Prouder Plunge

Another fabulous collaboration between Tangent Spike and myself, I wrote and recorded most of this awhile ago and then used half of the lyrics that I’d written in another song (which claims to be a re-write of an entirely different song). Man, my lyrics are getting really incestuous.

Anyway, I took some things out and put some new things in and this is about a Polar Plunge event that I’ve been doing for a while now, which I did for the last time this year.

It should be noted, as the lyrics are nonspecific, that this was a benefit for the Special Olympics, not an event happening in the actual Special Olympics.

Once I was walking around in a speedo
harassing passersby for change on the street
all to sponsor me
polar plunging, fundraising
I raised one hundred forty some dollars

when you donate
at those takes
you get to take home
a sticker and a sweatshirt
forever yours to own

Here in Rye Playland
on the boardwalk where they shot “Big”
I’m eating chicken noodle soup
because it’s free, and there’s hot chocolate

I’m In my third year of december-based
beach dates
swimming in the winter
for the special olympics
into the Sound I contemplate
just running naked instead of standing here waiting
but I don’t and I’m still in my clothes
my nipples prick up with frozen blood
and the water that I face is cold as well,
the ocean is older than hell,
the beach for now is empty except for the shells
the tide, sensing movement, ebbs bobs and swells

while are men in the water
wear wet suits and masks
I undress down to my speedo
flexing the extent of my muscle mass
and it isn’t much to show
but grip of the winter it’s bold
against the grain of the sand I go
into the water, ferociously cold
and I don’t complain, it’s all for fun
it’s noon and I’m looking I can’t see the sun
but the moon hasn’t set and it glows through the  clouds,
shining proud through the framing of its icy shroud.

I gaze upwards as I lay
in the back of the van
heading back to the dorms
where our journey began
and there’s sand in my pants
which I leave on my floor
and I curl up with a blanket
I just want to get warm, but
The heat broke in big Haus
and so did my lamp
and so it’s cold and it’s dark
in my room where I am.
