Last night I walked out of my room and discovered six black Magic: The Gathering cards placed in a deliberate triangle formation outside my door.
I have absolutely zero ideas about who put them there; does the perpetrator know how much I like Magic? Not very many people on this campus know that about me.
Anyway, I was sort of baffled and didn’t know what to think, so I wrote a song about it.
Last song, I used garageband loops to help me write the song, and then deleted them; for the sake of listenability, and saving time (making the music is the hardest part of this project), I’m going to unabashedly write my songs with the aid of pre-recorded instruments.
I’m actually fairly opposed to this idea, and having trouble justifying it to myself, but this song took TWENTY MINUTES. Fuckin’ a, right? That’s about how much time I have to spend on this project each day. I mean, I’m an RA, a student, an intern, I’ve got a weekly TV show to produce, I’m in play rehearsal 32 hours this week- there, justified. Suck it, conscience.
The song is called Gathered Magic.
Lyrics: Who left the distress on my doorstep? Who left the mindrot in the hall? The essence drain and ravenous rats, awaiting play, just lying flat. A swamp and one contaminated bond. (X2)
